Visions from Empire E3 2026

Hello lovely people!

Here are a bunch of visions I got from a magical tea party at the latest Empire event, anyone got any ideas or theories?

Annie

Singing! Speaking! Writing! The endless chatter! How dare they, how dare they silence the voices? What are we if not our voices? Our songs, our stories? No this must be a misunderstanding. Let the ones who celebrate art champion free thought also! Let autumn’s gale blow away this fog that clouds the voice, and the songs ring out once more!

You stand beneath a web so vast it vanishes into darkness. Every strand holds light, scattering fractals into the nothing that surrounds it. A child’s first laugh. A wedding. A battlefield. A funeral. A mother’s final embrace. Pale hands reach up and, one by one, cut the strands free. Instead of falling they drift upwards, disappearing into the black above. Something stirs amongst them. It breathes in slowly, deeply. Somewhere very far away, somebody sighs with relief.

Far away, soldiers with their eyes on the horizon send a learned man to secure them help. Close to home, the learned man collects money and answers questions. Far away, richly-dressed magicians eye the soldiers with distaste. The magicians speak with the betrayer of betrayers, and the betrayer of betrayers speaks with the accountant, and the accountant speaks with the swaggering and bejewelled sailors, and now the learned man will die if they are not stopped. Yet . . . the accountant speaks to a woman who sits in a chair and keeps the fractious and wealthy from killing one another, and the accountant gains her trust. How can the accountant betray her to you if there is no trust? Perhaps the learned man’s death is a price worth paying after all . . .

You kneel beside a still pool. One drop of black ink falls into the water. Nothing happens. Another follows, Then another. Hundreds upon hundreds . Thousands upon thousands. Endlessly dripping into the unbroken reflection. The water remains perfectly calm until the final drop falls. Only then does something beneath the surface slowly open its eyes.

First one eye. Then two. Ten. One hundred. Ten thousand.

When the last eye opens, they blink in unison.

Erwin

In a dark cave, a bright light. In the shadows, revelation. Shining. Vibrant . Furious.

“Bring me their heads!”

But another voice speaks, fearful and trembling. The new voice advises caution. So much work went into this, so much was spent. Surely, to destroy it all over one affront? Yes, of course, it is a terrible affront indeed. No one is saying they must not pay.  Only . . .

“But I must have access. I must!”

The other voice is a little more confident now, though still cautious. It warns that access will not be won by heads on spikes. No, now is the time for deal-making. The figure produces a parchment from within his sleeve, tightly rolled. A letter, from the criminals themselves, begging for what they feel they are owed.

Brilliant white fire floods the scene your eyes burn with the brightness of a hundred suns, and a bellowing roar fills your ears.

“Owed?! OWED?!”

And now they are back to speaking of heads and spikes. But he will convince her. Eventually. One small, fearful step at a time.

Agatha

The ring does nothing save what she says that it does, and none the less it is a trap, both for you and the ones you bring it to. Be careful, city shaper. Love does not mean to her what it does to you.

Brother Honey

An elderly physic places an empty glass bottle on the table between you.

They study you for a long while before asking, “Where does it hurt?” You place a hand against your chest.

They smile gently and shake their head.”No,” they reply, sliding the bottle closer.

“Where does it remember?” The bottle slowly fills with black smoke. You don’t remember opening your mouth.

Gof o’ Penniog

It began with the moon impossibly low above a broad lake. The moon blinked and somehow opened. Within the lake hundreds of eyes that stared up through me and into the sky. The eyes each closed in turn and then snapped open looking straight at me.

Please do leave a comment if you have any ideas, I would love to hear what you think!
