Alright folks, I’ve got about an hour this morning before I have to get moving, so let’s see if I can polish off those last Winds of Fortune.
Keep Talking
This Wind of Diplomacy has information about the Iron Confederacy, the Jotun, and the Grendel.
Iron Confederacy
The Iron Confederacy are Foreigners. A group of Suranni priests are coming to Anvil to speak about military matters and would like to meet generals and ex-generals to talk about their experiences. They would also like a tour of Anvil. The priests expect to arrive in Anvil at 12:30 on the Sunday of the Spring Equinox, and ask to meet the Minister for Historical Research at the Anvil Library.
Jotun
We are currently at war with the Jotun, that makes them Barbarians. There is currently a small group of their priests camped on an island near the border with Wintermark and they wish to talk to people who may have knowledge of the historical relevance of the place. A conjunction of the Sentinel Gate will open to Gull Isle, West Marsh, Kallavesa at 10:35 on Saturday morning.
Grendel
We are currently at war with the Grendel, that makes them Barbarians. The Grendel wish to make it very clear that they were not working with the Children of Wrecks this past season. They do not like the Children of Wrecks.
“The Children of Wrecks are traitors and Spring-crazed shark-worshippers. Their god is a large, angry fish with teeth. That makes them suckers in the eyes of the Grendel which is possibly the worst crime of all.
Ever since that debacle with the Asaveans, they’ve been no use to anyone.”
Two Suns in the Sunset
This wind is about the ongoing efforts to defeat the Asavaeans and introduce the Way there.
The Loyalty Assembly passed a mandate saying that the Empire must work to over throw the Plenum. There are now three groups players can look at and consider helping to do so.
The Satrapy of Ibaria
Ibaria is a poor satrapy on the edge of the Archipelago whose rebellion was ruthlessly crushed. They are a martial people who would rise again, if they had the means and there was a chance of victory. They could raise up to three armies if supplied with mithril and the Empire could request the people of the Empire donate mithril either through the Senate or the Loyalty Assembly.
The Children of Asav
The Children of Asav are a reactionary movement in Asavea who want to return the Archipelago to its glory days as a mighty empire. They lionise the nation’s martial spirit, and decry the corruption and venality of the Plenum. They are an influential cult, whose influence would grow if they were backed with Imperial funds, 75 Thrones a season would do nicely. This too would need to be done through the Senate or the Loyalty Assembly.
The Lost Weepers
The Lost Weepers are a group of rebels who have turned to dark powers. They worship all the gods of the Asavean pantheon and more. They are a dangerous cult, whose influence would grow if they were backed with ritual texts by the Imperial Conclave. If the Imperial Conclave were able to disseminate Thunderous Tread of the Trees, Rivers Run Red, Mountain Remembers Its Youth, and Wither the Seed, they would know where to do the most damage and would use them ruthlessly.
The Rogario Dossier
The Dossier is up for election this event, the collection of spies send a report back to the Empire and if the person in charge wished it they could organise them to infiltrate Asavaea more thoroughly. It would take a year for the spies to learn enough for a report on one of these groups.
Establishing the Way
There are currently too many ambitions calling for the help of the people of the Empire. If the players want the nebulous NPCs to help out with things like destroying the Vallorn or overthrowing the Asavaean Plenum, then they need to narrow down the choices and make it clear what they want done.
Sumaah
Last season the House of Vigilance in Sumaah sent word that the Asavaeans were readying to attack them, the captains of the Empire sent nearly 100 fleets, many of which were powerfully enchanted. They beat the Asavaens and saved teh coastal cities of the Sumaah.
In return, the Sumaah will be sending a dose of True Liao to the Empire every season until the war with Asavaea is over.
Players who sent their fleets to fight should read the wind for more details about what happened and what they can roleplay.
And there we have it folks, all the basic Winds of Fortune have been summarised.
In addition to these are the Winds of Magic, both Realm and Mortal editions, and the Visitors winds. Those ones have been updated so many times I haven’t been able to keep track, so I would recommend just reading them in full.
Hapy LARPing 🙂
